Wildlife Friendly Fencing
It's difficult to look at the variety of fences around the valley and figure out which ones may be a problem for wildlife and why. Go to the Wildlife Friendly Fence Design page for photos and specifications on different types of fencing and how you can design your fence to best meet your needs, and choose a fence that will not endanger valley wildlife.
To help people learn more about what constitutes a wildlife friendly fence, the Wildlife Foundation has created two publications. Download your own copy of our brochure, How to Create Wildlife Friendly Fencing. To view specific types of fences and learn how to differentiate the good from the bad, download our Fencing Resource Notebook. This will help to identify what fences are appropriate for areas where wildlife migrate and winter. Through a series of photos, we will show how landowners can erect fences that allow for the safe passage of wildlife. You will also learn more about which types of fences to choose in order to safely and effectively keep wildlife out, to protect yards, crops, gardens, livestock, hay storage and enclose pet areas.
